Interactive hotel property map with hotspots on rooms, pool and dining areas

Amenities that explain themselves

Pool hours, restaurant menus, spa treatments, and gym access all live in their own popup.

Room blocks that book

Deep-link each building or room type straight into your booking engine.

Website and on-property

One embed for your site, one QR code for wayfinding — both pointing at the same editable map.

What you get

  • Works with an illustrated resort map, a site plan, or a floor plan
  • Photos, hours, and capacity per amenity
  • Booking and reservation CTAs on room types and restaurants
  • Colour-coded categories for dining, wellness, and accommodation
  • Edit seasonal hours once — every page and QR code updates
  • Embeds in Wix, Webflow, WordPress, Squarespace, and Shopify

What guests are actually asking

A flat resort map answers one question — roughly where things are — and leaves the rest to the front desk. The questions guests actually have are what time the pool closes, whether the restaurant needs a reservation, how far the beach is from the garden rooms, and where parking is.

Each of those is a sentence in a popup. Putting them on the map means fewer calls, a shorter queue at reception, and a booking page that sells the property instead of just locating it.

What to hotspot first

  • Dining. Every restaurant and bar, with hours, dress code, and a reservation link. The highest-traffic popups on almost every property map.
  • Pools and beach. Hours, adults-only status, towel service, and a photo — the single most-clicked amenity on leisure properties.
  • Room blocks and buildings. Room types in each building, distance to the main facilities, and a booking deep link.
  • Wellness. Spa and gym with opening hours and a treatment-menu link.
  • Logistics. Reception, parking, shuttle stop, lifts, and accessible routes. Unglamorous and heavily used.
  • Event space. Ballrooms and meeting rooms with capacity and a request-a-quote link, which is where the group business comes from.

Selling room types from the map

Location sells rooms as much as the room itself: garden view versus ocean view, near the pool versus quiet wing, ground floor versus top floor. A guest reading a rate table cannot see any of that. Hotspot each block with the room types it holds, a photo of the actual view, walking distance to the main facilities, and a CTA into your booking engine filtered to those rooms.

Groups, weddings, and conferences

For event enquiries, the property map does the job a PDF fact sheet does badly: each function space opens with capacity by layout, natural light, AV, and a quote link. Pair it with an interactive seating chart for the room set itself, or an interactive floor plan when the enquiry is about a specific floor.

The QR code trick

Because every map has a public link as well as an embed, one QR code on the room keycard sleeve, the lift lobby, or the pool sign gives guests a live property guide with no app to install. When the restaurant changes its hours or the pool closes for maintenance, you edit one popup and every printed QR code is instantly current — something a printed map can never be.

Keeping a busy map readable

  • Group markers into categories with distinct colours — dining, wellness, accommodation, logistics — so the map is scannable before anything is clicked.
  • Keep popup copy to two or three lines. Detail belongs behind the CTA, not in the popup.
  • Illustrated resort maps are usually busy and mid-toned; test your marker colour against the background rather than defaulting to it. Our image prep guide covers contrast and export sizes.
  • For large resorts, use one overview map plus per-area maps rather than 80 markers on a single image.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a designer to make the base map?

Only if you don't already have one. Most properties have an illustrated resort map, a site plan, or a floor plan in a brochure PDF — export that page as an image and you have your base.

Can it show live availability or rates?

No. Popup content is text you edit rather than a live feed, so keep rates and availability in your booking engine and link to it from each hotspot's CTA.

Will it work inside my hotel's website platform?

Anywhere that accepts an iframe or HTML embed, which covers WordPress, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, HubSpot, and most hospitality CMS templates.

Can I keep separate maps for different properties?

Yes. Each property gets its own map and its own embed on the Pro plan; the free plan covers one image.
