Use case · Events & trade shows

A floor plan attendees can tap, not a PDF they zoom into.

Drop a marker on every booth, stage, and registration desk. Each one opens an exhibitor card with a logo, a description, and a link — and stays editable while booths are still selling.

Why a PDF floor plan costs you engagement

A downloadable PDF cannot be updated after it ships, cannot be measured, and forces attendees to zoom. An old HTML image map is little better: fixed pixel coordinates drift as the image scales, and clicking only produces a link. Percentage-based markers with real content cards solve both — see responsive image maps and the HTML image map alternative.

Event day is a phone-first day

Attendees use the floor plan while walking. Markers are tap targets, and cards open full width rather than as a hover tooltip that touch screens cannot trigger — see hotspot alignment on mobile. Keep the exhibitor list as text on the page too, so search engines index the names.

On phones, hotspots become tap targets and the popup opens as a full-width card.
